The project aims to explore the future of Jordan and to explore and determine the paths which could lead to different possibilities. The philosophy of this project is that it is important to have a role in shaping our future, to deal with challenges and options, and to try to influence the future instead of merely being affected by it.
This vision is based on the scenario of Jordan in 2030, a developed country that is able to sustain this development, dominated by social justice, and providing a high standard of living for Jordanian people for generations to come.
Jordan has achieved many great things in the fields of economics, education, health and technology in addition to political achievements such as modifying more than 1/3 of the articles in the constitution and moving towards political reform. However, Jordan still faces significant challenges, particularly in population growth, lick of nature resources, and global and regional competition. Therefore, the Jordan of today is at a crossroads, and it is necessary to choose the best development path that it in harmony with the aspiration of the people.
Therefore, the draft scenarios of Jordan in 2030 will be built on these achievements, and will be designed to turn challenges into opportunities. Dozens of Jordanian researchers and experts, in addition to government institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations will contribute to this project so it can be completed in 2 years. The project will launch in 2013 and end in 2015.
